Session 4 added the requirement that fitness landscapes specifically must be dynamic (agent-modified), since static landscapes such as the NK model or Echo cannot produce multi-scale composition.

The fitness landscape must be DYNAMIC — agents modify the landscape they're adapting to. Static landscapes (NK model, Echo) cannot produce multi-scale composition. Niche construction makes landscapes dynamic in biology; stigmergy makes them dynamic in simulation.
